Learning about Creation Amani Watoto Style
Late last year, the leaders at Amani Kenya had a special treat for the Amani Watoto -- children of Amani ladies who participate in the kids’ camp Amani hosts during school holidays. After a year of studying the Creation story at Amani Watoto, the children took a day trip to Nairobi National Park. It was an amazing chance for the children to witness the wonder of Creation. The park is just outside the city and home to some of the iconic East African wildlife that lives in the rolling hills surrounding Nairobi. For many, it was the first time they had ever seen the famous wild animals in their natural habitat.
Below are some of the highlights from their time in the park:
One of the two big buses that everyone piled into for the excursion
On the bus en route to Nairobi National Park
Looking out the windows at the amazing wildlife
A herd of impala

Getting a closer look at the breathtaking wildlife in their beautiful natural habitat
After a couple of hours driving around the game park, the Amani Watoto took a much needed lunch break. Packing a lunch for all the Amani children was quite an ordeal.
The children ate pilau, a traditional rice dish with spices, vegetables, and meat
Savoring the delicious meal
Chatting about what they've seen while they eat their lunch
A family of warthogs come say hello
The warthogs head home after hanging out with the Amani Watoto crew
Everyone lines up to go into the animal sanctuary after lunch
Walking around the sanctuary
Leopards at the park shelter chow down on their lunch
Enraptured while watching the leopards
Hamming it up for the camera
All in all it was an amazing day, one that the children won't soon forget!
