Article: Gift of Mercy

Gift of Mercy

Gift of Mercy

Not getting what we rightly deserve is unjust and unfair. Not getting what is due us can make us question our worth and value. Being treated unjustly and unfairly is painful and can stir a myriad of emotions - anger, sadness, disappointment. Not getting what we rightly deserve is also mercy.

God lavishes his mercy upon us every day and shows us compassion and forgiveness. What a gift!  A gift of mercy we don’t deserve!  We are overwhelmed with gratitude.  Every day is a celebration of God’s mercy.  We are welcomed into our Father’s merciful love and forgiveness each day. Can we not help but to also extend mercy? Are we that safe haven for others -- a place where the peace of God, His love and mercy, flows from us to them?
