Article: World Fair Trade Day!

World Fair Trade Day!

World Fair Trade Day!

There are beautiful people behind the things you own. People who used their heads, hands, and time to bring those objects - well loved and used, stored away, worn out over time - into existence. They have names (like Anna, Dorothy, Janviere, Veneranda, Delphine, Hellen, Margaret, and more, and more...). They have children and sorrows, unique laughs and styles, huge struggles and dreams like us all.
Today is World Fair Trade Day, and we want to give a loud shout of "Thank you! We love you!" to the people all over the world, and at Amani, that make economies and communities thrive, and to whom we are committed, saying "We will get to know you. We will come alongside you. We will fight for you. We will learn from you."
Fair Trade outlines a set of principles that seek to make life fair and wholesome for everyone in the supply-chain of our economies (you can learn more at the Fair Trade Federation website here), but we hope that you will join us in going beyond fair trade by honoring others (whether your own child or a woman in Africa overcoming poverty) with your words, actions, and prayers today.

Happy World Fair Trade Day to one and all!
