Maasai Beads Multi Strand Necklace
A beaded necklace featuring many strands of brightly-colored beads. Burnt Orange and Copper. Brass hook clasp. Named for the mighty Maasai tribe, a tall, graceful people who live in East Africa. The Maasai are cattle farmers and adorn themselves with colorful clothing and jewelry.
Over the years Amani has sought creative ways to support training for the marginalized women who come through her gate. We often work with small business owners in the Nairobi Maasai Market in Kenya. Each vendor who supplies us with jewelry is a partner in this vision since each external product, as we call jewelry from the market, has become an additional revenue stream for Amani that ensures overhead is met without cost to the women.
Handmade by Florence of the Maasai Market in Nairobi, Kenya.
Hangs approx. 14" at longest strands. Approx. 20 strands of beads.
