Lamu is an island off the coast of Kenya which was inhabited by Arab traders hundreds of years ago. A key port of trade between Africa and the East, Lamu architecture, dress, religion and culture took on the characteristics of the Arab world. This particular fabric is know in Kenya as "Lamu cloth" - the intricate pattern is reminiscent of Eastern decor and the fabric is soft and flowing. Elegant, intriguing, timeless - you can't go wrong with our Lamu Scarf.

Handmade by the women of Amani Kenya.
